Room with a view? Renters can now use interactive property maps to choose their apartment on Zillow
Zillow's new integration lets renters know exactly where their next apartment is located within the building SEATTLE, March 15, 2023 -- Apartment hunters using Zillow can now see the exact location of available units — and even what their view would be — at thousands of participating properties. Zillow Rentals' new integration with Engrain's interactive map platform lets renters understand what floor an available apartment is on; if it's facing a shared outdoor space, like a garden or pool; or if the view is of a street or parking lot. The interactive maps also allow renters to click on available units to book a tour or request to apply, in much the same way they would select concert tickets when buying online. Engrain's Unit Map technology is currently used on more than 3,600 apartment building pages on Zillow and available to renters using Zillow on their desktop or through the mobile app. "Regardless of how detailed the apartment description is or how beautiful the listing photos are, a renter can't get a full grasp of the surroundings until they take the time to do an in-person tour, until now," says Michael Sherman, vice president of Zillow Rentals. "For renters who have specific preferences like wanting a nice view or being away from the busy elevator bank, Unit Maps are a major time-saver. They can help a renter narrow down which units they want to see in person." Zillow's integration with Engrain is another example of how the company is meeting renter demand for digital tools. Zillow features like 3D Home® tours, and other building information such as Walk Score® and Bike Score® help renters quickly narrow their options and avoid wasting time touring apartments that are not a good fit. When renters are ready to commit to the in-person tour, they can do it with the click of a button. Zillow recently announced automated tour scheduling for apartment-seeking renters, allowing them to book a tour in the same way they book a restaurant reservation. "We are investing in integrations and products to make the apartment hunt easier and help people get into their next home more seamlessly," Sherman said. "Renters want and deserve as much information as possible during their search, and by the time they're ready for an in-person tour or to apply, the property managers will know they're working with a renter who's serious about their move." About Zillow Group Zillow Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: Z and ZG) is reimagining real estate to make it easier to unlock life's next chapter. RPR Adds Qualified Opportunity Zones
CHICAGO (August 1, 2019) - Realtors Property Resource® (RPR), a nationwide data resource and a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), is pleased to announce the addition of Qualified Opportunity Zones (QOZ) to its platform. This powerful data layer will allow REALTORS® to use RPR's map interface to analyze and search for properties within the 8,700 Opportunity Zones throughout the U.S. Created in 2017 as part of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the purpose of the federal government's QOZ program is to drive economic growth through long-term investments in economically disadvantaged communities. Designated as "Opportunity Zones," these areas present opportunities for real estate investment and development by offering tax incentives to investors. "With the Opportunity Zone initiative poised to transform American communities that have long been shunned by investors, NAR has developed resources to help facilitate and expedite investments in these areas. As our work continues, REALTORS® are committed to ensuring Americans can take full advantage of this valuable new initiative," said Joseph Ventrone, NAR Vice President, Federal Policy and Industry Relations. Through RPR, REALTORS® will search a geographic area, then choose to display the Opportunity Zones layer, which will then reveal shaded areas that qualify. REALTORS® can then analyze all properties that fall in the Opportunity Zone, review economic and demographic statistics for the area, and create reports for investors about the buying potential. They will also be able to reach out to residents and business owners in the area about selling advantages through RPR's recently launched Mailing Labels feature. "These Opportunity Zones encourage private investment into low-income communities, with the intent of stimulating economic growth and job creation," said Bob Turner, NAR's 2019 Commercial Liaison and RPR Advisory Council Member. "Residential practitioners will notice homes that fall within Opportunity Zones gain a boost to their marketability because of increased attention, while Commercial practitioners will likely see properties once being skipped over turn into desirable investment opportunities." Under the program, taxpayers who reinvest capital gains from a previous sale into a fund for investing (called "Opportunity Funds"), are eligible to defer paying taxes on those gains, and can potentially reduce their tax liability by 10 – 15% (based on the amount of time they hold the investment). Additionally, if the investment is held for at least ten years, any appreciation on it is tax-free. "I'm very excited to see RPR offer REALTORS® another tool to help us serve our clients," said Deena Zimmerman, Vice President of SVN in Chicago, IL. "The benefits of Opportunity Zones are broad, and with the tax benefits on the table for investors, we should see increased attention to properties in these areas." About Realtors Property Resource® Realtors Property Resource, LLC®, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Association of REALTORS®, is an exclusive online real estate database created to support the core competence of its members. The parcel-centric database, covering more than 160 million residential and commercial U.S. properties, provides REALTORS® with the analytical power to help clients make informed decisions while increasing efficiency in the marketplace. Google Street View Publishing and Faster Space Capture Increase ROI for Matterport Customers Across Multiple Industries SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jan. 10, 2018 -- Matterport, an immersive 3D media technology company, today announced open betas for publishing to Google Street View and new camera firmware enabling faster space capture. These two significant initiatives are expected to create more business opportunities for Matterport's thousands of customers across numerous industries, including restaurants, retail, travel and hospitality, real estate, and architecture, construction and engineering. Google Street View Publishing With Matterport's rollout of Google Street View publishing capabilities, Matterport users will be able to quickly create and publish a Google Street View experience from any Matterport 3D Space with the click of a button. Matterport 3D Spaces can now be exported to show up on Google Maps, Google Earth, and the mobile Street View application as fully linked panoramic photo tours, driving additional traffic to businesses' websites. Clients get the best of both worlds, leveraging the highly immersive Matterport 3D experience of a company's space on their website and publishing a 360 tour on Street View. "Google Street View publishing and faster space capture are two of the many initiatives that greatly increase the value of Matterport for camera operators, as well as businesses that want to use Google to drive people to their websites," said Bill Brown, Matterport CEO. "Matterport is the solution of choice for all types of businesses because our automation makes it easy for anyone to quickly capture a space and get a high-quality 3D environment. Now this content can be experienced as a Matterport immersive 3D environment on a business' website and can also be used to published as a Google Street View experience on Google Maps, Google Earth, or mobile Street View." Publishing a Google Street View experience from a Matterport 3D Space only takes a few minutes and enables Matterport Service Providers to expand their services by providing superior walkthroughs for clients and prospective customers. Google Street View photographers can rely on Matterport for a faster and easier publishing process. Since creation of a 3D space is automated, there is no need to manually stitch 360 panoramas, place and orient each of them on a map, and manually link the tours together. Photographers now only need a Matterport camera to get the job done, as opposed to using 360 and DSLR cameras, which often require additional equipment and software. Faster Space Capture to Increase ROI for Camera Owners In addition to expanding its distribution capabilities, Matterport has dramatically shortened the already brief onsite time it takes to capture a Matterport 3D Space, increasing the ROI for customers by reducing the labor cost for content creation. This latest camera firmware update speeds up the camera rotation, enabling customers to scan spaces in a fraction of the time. The speed increase comes from a free firmware update, requires no additional equipment, and will work for all Pro2 and Pro Matterport cameras. The quality of 2D imagery and 3D data will remain unchanged. Check out this video to see just how much faster the Matterport camera can scan. As the only automated all-in-one solution, Matterport empowers users to generate cutting-edge 3D experiences, high-resolution 2D photography, and a wide range of other shareable assets that can be used to differentiate businesses in the market and improve customer experiences.   June 27, 2016, Irvine, Calif. – CoreLogic®, a leading global property information, analytics and data-enabled services provider, announced today the expansion of its location-based intelligence data with the addition of structure footprint information to its other parcel and property characteristics data offerings. CoreLogic Structure Footprint enables accurate roof-top geocoding and identifies the location and outline of relevant structures on a parcel, including all known sub-addresses, to provide a more granular and precise property description. CoreLogic residential and commercial structure footprint data covers more than 35 million rural and urban parcels throughout the U.S, including two-thirds of the largest 50 metro areas. White River Junction, Vermont (January 13, 2014) -- Maponics, a leading provider of geospatial data, announced today that Realtors Property Resource (RPR), the National Association of REALTORS® online real estate database, is licensing Maponics Context Walkability™. Context Walkability is the most comprehensive and customizable walk rating solution on the market. The product provides a walkability index for US city neighborhoods as well as school attendance zones, subdivisions and other areas. The walkability rating represents accessibility by walking to points of interest such as coffee shops, parks and schools. "We're delighted to provide Walkability rankings to a wide array of real estate professionals through RPR," said Mark Friend, Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Maponics. "Studies are finding that housing in pedestrian-friendly areas has higher property values and is more desirable for home buyers and renters. This is important information for the real estate market, for obvious reasons." RPR gathers extensive national, regional and local data that enables Realtors and other members to access data and analytics on properties and market trends. RPR members include Realtors, residential and commercial broker/agents, appraisers, associations and MLSs. Walkability data is increasingly relevant to home buyers. According to the National Association of Realtors 2013 Community Preference Survey, 60% of survey participants prefer a neighborhood with a mix of houses, stores and other businesses that are within easy walking distance of one another. Over half, 55%, would be willing to trade a home with a larger yard for a smaller home within walking distance of schools, stores and restaurants. "RPR's mission is to bring the highest value data sets to NAR's 1 million+ REALTOR® members across the country. With neighborhood and community walkability on the minds of so many consumers, it's vital that our agents and brokers have reliable, comprehensive information to share with their clients and customers," says Dale Ross, CEO of Realtors Property Resource. "The addition of this type of high-demand information to RPR's already robust tools, features and reports will assist in positioning REALTORS® as the local market expert in their communities." Context Walkability ratings range from 0.0 to 5.0 and include 3 scores: Amenity points of interest, including schools, shopping centers and more; Leisure points of interest, such as coffee shops and pizza places; and Overall, a combination of Amenity and Leisure. In addition to points of interest, Walkability ratings take into account street types, speed limits and other features that Walk Score® does not consider (see the infographic comparing Context Walkability to Walk Score®). RPR has been a Maponics customer since 2010. They also license Maponics School Boundaries and ZIP Code Boundaries. dynaConnections Releases connectMLS 4.1 - Enhances Mapping and User Experience
AUSTIN, Texas – May 3, 2011 – dynaConnections Corporation deployed connectMLS 4.1 to Midwest Real Estate Data’s (MRED) 38,000 members. The latest release of the browser-agnostic and fully customizable MLS system includes multi-function mapping enhancements, heightened end-user functionality, and new tools to help Realtors® increase their client base. Upgraded mapping features allow Realtors® to more efficiently work with listing information while increasing their presence in front of their clients. Realtors® can access the additional mapping tools from their search results and listing reports in connectMLS. Some of the map layers that can be turned on and off to highlight boundaries are parcels, school districts, zip codes, and flood plains. “In connectMLS 4.1, we took the system’s customization one step further by allowing Realtors® to alter their experience to better fit their business needs,” said Tim Ford, dynaConnections President/CEO. “The new features enhance how Realtors® interact with their clients while still providing the MLS staff with a necessary balance of control.” As an integral part of the connectMLS experience, the My MLS Homepage widgets now have additional customization options. The new Lead Capture widget allows Realtors® to view incoming leads from multiple portals (i.e. websites, social media sites, etc.), through a simple link or an advanced form, generated by connectMLS. Using the Lead Capture widget, Realtors® can easily review each lead and instantly transfer the information to their connectMLS client database.
